Road Construction
BHM is the leading road and highway contractor in The Bahamas, with proven expertise in the roads sector from inception to completion and beyond. Our services include new road construction, road surfacing, rehabilitation resurfacing, and maintenance.
BHM owns an extensive fleet of heavy construction equipment for our earthworks and paving projects, including hot mix asphalt and concrete, all serviced and maintained by our extensive team of experienced mechanics. Our experienced asphalt teams supply and lay products on roads, airfields and ports with modern, well-maintained asphalt and concrete equipment.
We are committed to being an industry leader in the design and manufacture of asphalt and concrete. With our in-house quality management system and independent quality testing, our clients get the benefit of receiving the highest quality asphalt and concrete product at all times.
We have purpose-built test laboratories that are fully accredited to ISO 17025 for testing, AASHTO, ASTM, BS and international standards for sampling and testing soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt. BHM also has its own experienced asphalt and concrete teams to supply and lay products on roads, airfields and ports equipment, and where required, mobile asphalt mixing and concrete plants for on-site production and quality control, this is especially significant for Family Island projects in The Bahamas.

Water and Sewerage Treatment

Building Division
The Building Division works in partnership with private and public sector clients to tailor our services to meet the needs and requirements of our ever changing market. No matter the job scope, whether traditional construction, design and build or bespoke, our team of professionals are involved with each project from start to finish.
The Building Division currently only undertakes new build projects, allowing us to pass on the benefits of our experience in construction methodology, value engineering, procurement and programming. The Division works closely with our clients to accurately deliver costing and fully developed designs. In the future we will be adding refurbishment and renovation for existing buildings to this service.
In-House Capabilities
BHM has strong in-house technical services and design management capabilities. Our expertise is in delivering economical, temporary works schemes and the proposals for alternative materials and construction methods where we believe they can bring benefits to our clients.

Coastal and Marine
BHM has been involved with many marine and port projects, gaining valuable experience in developing ports and harbour construction, especially within The Bahamas. Drilling
BHM has extensive expertise in drainage drilling, deep cooling and injection well construction. Our recirculation drilling method, which is particularly advantageous in controlling the flow of water in urban areas, has proven to be most effective.
Drilling Teams and Equipment
Our drilling teams are experienced in constructing wells in many types of strata, ranging from cohesive to igneous formations, while at all times keeping in mind the importance of safety and using responsible working methods to respect the local environment and communities.
Our fleet of Atlas-Copco TW2 & TW4 model drill rigs are capable of being used for direct drilling using the re-circulation method to depths in excess of 1560 feet, with the additional capability to obtain core specimens using rotary drilling. A typical drainage well construction is 10 inch in diameter and 215 feet deep, with PVC liners installed and grouted into place at specified depths, according to site conditions and client requirements.
Drilling Experience
BHM also has a wealth of experience in deep wells exceeding 660 feet deep and 4 feet in diameter. These deep wells have strict requirements on plumb and alignment, along with other requirements. Such requirements include keeping contractual relevant drilling records, obtaining and storing samples of strata encountered, obtaining and storing ground-water samples, obtaining core samples by rotary drilling, developing wells to acceptable levels of turbidity, conducting water quality analysis, and commissioning and assisting with the geophysical and flow capacity testing and video surveys.
